Here’s a breakdown of the different types of labels:
- Digital Interactive – Indicates the lesson contains at least one slide with an embedded digital interactive. We recommend that teachers preview the lesson slides ahead of time and test out any interactive components on the slides. Slides containing digital interactives can optionally be sent to students’ devices via “Send to Student.”
- Digital Lesson – Indicates the lesson is a fully interactive student-facing synchronous activity. Students will need devices. This label does not appear in K-5.
- Context Video – Indicates the lesson contains a context video. These videos are designed to invite all students into an engaging and curiosity-driven experience.
- Math Past – Indicates the lesson provides historical context to inform teaching and lesson-specific ideas about how to engage students in the history of mathematics.
- Art Connection – Indicates the lesson contains a work of fine art that has a connection to the math learned within the module. The cover art is discussed or analyzed in specific lessons within the module.
