Eureka Math Squared - Monitor Students During Digital Lessons

After sharing slides with students or starting a digital lesson, teachers have access to the Monitoring view, where they can monitor student work during the lesson.


Monitor Students

1. Navigate to the Monitoring view.

2. Select a slide from the panel on the left. The number labels on each slide indicate how many students are viewing the slide.

3. Below the slide image, you can select a specific student's slide to review their work. The icons next to each student's name indicate the following:
  • Active: Students currently on the slide.
  • Attempted: Students attempted the slide.
  • Seen: Students viewed the slide without attempting.

4. From a specific student's slide, you can:

a. Take a snapshot by clicking the camera icon. 
b. Navigate to a different student's slide by selecting their name from the list on the left.
c. View a different slide for that student by clicking on the slide thumbnail.
d. Select Return to All Students to close the modal.

Student Tracker

1. Select Student Tracker at the top left to view an at-a-glance summary of student attempts and progress for the entire lesson.

2. Select a dot from the tracker to view that student’s slide. Note: Students that are not logged in to Great Minds do not appear in the tracker.

Additional Digital Lesson Controls

1. Some lessons have pacing gates at specific intervals to prevent students from moving ahead of the class. In the panel on the left, click the lock icon to unlock the pacing gate and allow students to continue through the lesson. You can re-lock a pacing gate by clicking the unlocked icon.

2. Select Pause Students at the top left to pause the lesson for the entire class and gain your students' attention.

3. To move all students to a specific slide, click the slide's kebab icon and select Move all Students to this Slide from the drop-down menu. Students will receive a brief message before being redirected to the slide.
