Eureka Math Equip - Overview

Eureka Math Equip is built on two core principles. First, assessment is focused directly and exclusively on the foundational knowledge needed to access the lessons of each module. The premodule assessments in Eureka Math Equip do not attempt to comprehensively assess all related knowledge taught in prior grades; rather, they focus exclusively on essential foundational knowledge that the lessons assume and require, which avoids the trap of extensive testing and reteaching of large swaths of prior grade-level content. 

Second, Eureka Math Equip is designed to sprinkle supporting content in just when students need it, while keeping the momentum of learning moving forward coherently. The supporting content is designed to be used just in time—either woven into the instruction for all students or taught in parallel with the module in a small group setting. By incorporating foundational knowledge instruction when it is most applicable to grade-level content, teachers using Eureka Math Equip help students make connections between foundational knowledge and new content for a deeper, more enriching learning experience.
