Wit & Wisdom Affirm - Score Assessments

The assessments that are ready to score and review appear on the left side of the Home screen. The status of the assessment determines your scoring options.

  • If assessments require manual scoring, you will see the option to Score.

  • If the Affirm® platform autoscored all the items, you will see the option to Review, which allows you to add feedback and submit reports.

  • If the scoring and review steps have been completed, you will see the option to Revisit, which allows you to review the reports for previously completed assessments at any time.

You can also find any assessment that is available to review by selecting See all active assessments and filtering by Action.

You can also see all instances of assessments in the Library by selecting See More next to the assessment.

Score and Review Assessments

Select Score or Review to begin scoring.

Question Scoring

Assessments that require manual scoring will default to this view and will automatically filter the assessments to show only questions that require a score to be entered.

  1. Enter the student's item score on the right side.
  2. If available for the question, use the rubric provided to help you determine the student's item score.
  3. Use the Feedback field to give feedback directly to the student on the question.
  4. Select Next to move to subsequent questions that need to be scored manually until you have scored all questions for every student.
  5. To see all questions, not just the ones that require manual scores, disable the Manually scored only toggle at the top of the screen.

Student Review

The Student Review tab is useful for viewing all the questions that students worked on (both manually scored and auto scored), one student at a time.

  1. You can use the box on the right to give feedback for individual items.
  2. Use the General Feedback button to give assessment-level feedback to an individual student.
  3. A grayed-out student name indicates that the student has not completed the assessment and therefore does not require feedback.

You can filter students shown using the drop-down at the top right, which reverts to All Students by default. This will allow you to filter for all students who started but do not submit an attempt or who need scoring. You will now see attempt and scoring status in the student name bubbles while scoring.

Send Scores to Reports

Once you have completed all manual scoring and entered all feedback, select the Finish Scoring button at the upper right to send all the student scores to reports.

Wit-Wisdom-Affirm-Finish-Scoring

If a student starts an assessment and does not submit, or if there are students that have any unscored items on an assessment, you will be prompted to finish scoring the assessment or close the assessment for those specific students.

All assessment attempts from students that have been started must be scored or closed before scoring can be completed.
