Wit & Wisdom in Sync - Complete Assignments
This article explains how students access and complete video and PDF-based assignments in Wit & Wisdom in Sync.
Access Assignments
Within the Great Minds in Sync™ platform, there are two locations where students are able to access work that is assigned to them: To Do and Find.
To Do
In the To Do section of Great Minds in Sync™ students will find assessments, videos, and PDFs that have been assigned by the student's teacher. Select an assignment card to begin working on it.
Find
All videos and PDFs available for students can be located in the Find tab. Students can switch between subjects, grade level content, and module by utilizing the tab and arrow navigation at the top of the screen. They can also drill down into each module by opening the Module and Day level drop-downs to access relevant videos and assignments.
Direct Assignment Links
As an alternative to searching for student work in the Find tab, teachers may also choose to send a direct link to a PDF or video through email or post a link in their Learning Management System (LMS) for students to complete.
In order to access the link, students will need to be logged into the platform, either using their SSO method (Clever or Google) or through an email address and password at digital.greatminds.org.
Please note that once students have been inactive in the platform for more than one hour, they will be required to log in again. If your student is seeing an error message, please have them repeat the login process and re-select the link.
Complete and Submit Assignments
Within Great Minds in Sync™, students will complete assignments by watching videos or filling out PDFs to submit back to their teacher.
Assignments have a set due date, but students can continue to access and submit an assignment after the due date. Assignments will remain open for late submissions for the student until it is closed by the teacher.
Video Assignments
Videos can be viewed directly in the platform and are not meant to be downloaded. Students can toggle between English and Spanish versions when available in the top right corner.
Students also have the option to turn on closed captioning, make the video full screen, adjust the volume, and pause or play the video from any point.
Students can select Done to indicate they've completed the assignment.
Complete and Submit PDF Assignments
Great Minds in Sync™ allows teachers to choose one of two methods for their students to complete and submit assigned PDFs: Complete Online or Upload a File.
Complete Assignments Online
To complete the assignment online, the student can use the tools provided to draw, type, or highlight on the PDF.
Students can click on an existing annotation to edit it, and they can select the trash can icon if they wish to delete an annotation. For text annotations, click on the style palette menu to access a text size slider.
When the student has completed their work, they will submit their assignment to their teacher by clicking the I'm Done button. After confirming they wish to submit the assignment, a copy of their completed assignment will automatically download to their device (to the device or browser's default location for downloaded files, e.g. the "Downloads" folder on a PC).
Complete Assignments Offline
Instead of completing assignments online, students can download the fillable PDF files from the platform, save them to their devices, and then upload them back into in Sync assignment submission tool.
- Download the PDF and save the file to your computer
- Fill out your local copy of the PDF using the fillable boxes and/or external annotation tools
- Save changes made to your file
- Upload your completed file using the assignment submissions tool to submit it to your teacher
- Once the file has been uploaded, click the Done button and the assignment will be removed from your To Do page.
