Learn Anywhere Plan
The Learn Anywhere Plan (LAP) is the backbone of Wit & Wisdom in Sync and the core planning resource for teachers. The Learn Anywhere Plan includes an overview of each module and daily plans for a full year of instruction. The plan provides key information about Wit & Wisdom in Sync’s organization and how the Great Minds teacher and the classroom teacher share instruction
- The Learn Anywhere Plan Module Overview shows how the full module has been streamlined and is organized by Focusing Question Arc.
- Each Learn Anywhere Plan Day shows the sequence of instruction and how the Great Minds® teacher and the classroom teacher share instruction. To plan effectively, classroom teachers should review the Teacher Edition for lesson-level detail.
Digital Teacher Edition
The digital Teacher Edition is an interactive and searchable version of the print Teacher Edition and includes instructional support and tools for each module. The Learn Anywhere Plans are based on the full Wit & Wisdom lessons provided in the print or digital Teacher Edition; classroom teachers should use both resources to prepare for instruction.
Daily Videos
Through daily videos, Great Minds teachers deliver key lesson content, bringing their experiences of successfully teaching Wit & Wisdom to this virtual environment. Videos include closed-captioning in English as well as audio in English and Spanish.
Vocabulary Videos
Vocabulary videos help students preview and practice essential vocabulary.
Projected Slides
The Projected Slides are slide presentations for each Wit & Wisdom lesson. In Grades
Kindergarten through Grade 2, these presentations begin in Module 2. In Grades 3 through 8, the presentations follow the full Wit & Wisdom lessons. Classroom teachers can use the presentations for in-person or online instruction.
Digital Student Edition
In Wit & Wisdom in Sync, students have digital access to Student Edition pages as fillable PDFs. The Student Edition includes handouts as well as fluency activities.
Affirm Digital Assessments
All users with access to Wit & Wisdom in Sync have access to Affirm®. The Affirm digital assessment platform offers major module assessments in one place for access in or out of school. Classroom teachers assign digital assessments to students, and students complete and submit their work online. Teachers can score the assessments automatically or by rubric and provide written feedback before returning the assessment to students and generating reports. In addition to digital assessments, PDFs of the assessments are available as a paper-and-pencil backup.
Affirm includes these assessments:
- Focusing Question Tasks (constructed response)
- New-Read Assessments (selected response and constructed response)
- End-of-Module Tasks (constructed response)
- Vocabulary (selected response and constructed response)
- Question Sets (selected response; available for Grades 2 through 8)
Affirm does not include Checks for Understanding, Exit Tickets, or Socratic Seminars. These assessments appear in the Teacher Edition module lessons.
