Track Progress
You can track student progress from the Assign page by noting the meanings of the primary actions on the assessment card.
- If no students have submitted their assessments, the primary action will show View.
- If some students have submitted their assessments, the primary action will show Score.
Score Assessments
You can score an assessment once the student submits an assessment from the Assign page. Submissions can be scored at any time. Auto-scored submissions will be corrected and scored for the teacher.
- Navigate to the Assign page.
- Click the Score button to view the student scoring page that contains a summary of each student’s performance and navigation to student submissions.
- Scroll the page to score any items labeled as Pending.
- Teacher-scored submissions require the teacher to evaluate and score student responses against a rubric. Teachers can navigate to the item and adjust the score by entering a value in the numerator box.
Teacher Scored Items: How to Use the Rubric
- Part B of the item show below requires a rubric. Note that Part A has been automatically scored (1/1).
- Items containing teacher-scored items will display Pending until all scoring for the item is complete.
- Use the drop-down menu to view a sample answer. The sample answer provides an example of a response that meets expectations.
- Review the criteria for meets expectations. Then select the description that best represents the student’s response as it relates to the criteria provided. The points associated with the description will be awarded.
Teacher-Scored Teacher-Facing Assessments (Engineering and Science Challenges)
- Engineering Challenges, Science Challenges, and Capstone Assessments are all teacher-facing assessments. This information provides the teacher with the lesson number and evidence that is needed for this item.
- The Sample Answer provides the location of the desired evidence.
- Review the Rubric criteria specific to the question. Select the scoring option that best represents the student’s response as it relates to the provided criteria.
Finish Scoring
Once all students have submitted their assessments and all teacher- scored items have been scored, select Finish Score at the top right of the scoring window. Scores will be released to the students (unless another option was selected during assignment creation) and the assessment report will be finalized.
Once Finish Score is selected, scores cannot be updated and students will no longer be able to attempt the assessment.
