Administrator Reports Data Dictionary

This page contains a data dictionary for each type of administrator CSV report:


Student Assessment Performance Report 

 Report Description: This report calculates detailed student performance at the district and school level and provides administrators with raw data on student performance for every assessment attempt. 

Data Dictionary: 

  • assessment_id - Unique identifier for each assessment assigned by a teacher. This identifier can be used to match across the Student, Standard, and Summary files. 
  • attempt_id - Unique identifier for the student’s submission. This identifier can be used to match across the Student and Standard files 
  • template_id - Unique identifier for each assessment title. This identifier can be used to match across the Student, Standard, and Summary files 
  • assessment - Title of the assessment 
  • assessment_status – The status of the assessment, which can be one of the following values: 
    • open - student can still submit attempts
    • needs_grading - students have completed submissions, but some manually scored items remain to be scored by the teacher
    • review - students have completed submissions and all items have a score, but the teacher can still update the scores) 
    • done - all submissions and scores are finalized
  • type_of_assessment - Designates the category of assessment based on the curriculum. 
  • is_custom - Designates whether an assessment was created by Great Minds (false) or customized by a user (true). 
  • grade - Grade level associated with the assessment 
  • module - Module associated with the assessment 
  • curriculum – Great Minds curriculum associated with the assessment 
  • school - School the assigning teacher is associated with 
  • teacher_sis_id - Teacher identifier as received by Great Minds from the district 
  • teacher - Name of the assigning teacher (last_name, first_name) 
  • section (classroom name) - Name of the class in which the assigning teacher administered the assessment 
  • student_email - Email address of the student whose submission is represented in this row 
  • student_id Student identifier as received by Great Minds from the district 
  • Student - Name of the student whose submission is represented in this row (last_name, first_name) 
  • date_launched (attempt started) - Date that the student first opens their attempt 
  • date_completed - Date of the specific student’s submission 
  • overall_points_achieved - Total points the student achieved on the assessment 
  • overall_points_possible - Total possible points the student could have achieved on the assessment 
  • overall_percentage - Percentage value based on the total points the student achieved on their submission divided by the total points possible for the assessment 
  • performance_band - Great Minds designated performance category for the student’s submission  


Assessment Summary Report 

Report Description: This rollup report shows administrators how students are distributed across performance bands for any assessment. 

Data Dictionary: 

  • template_id – unique identifier for the assessment title 
  • assessment - Title of the assessment 
  • type_of_assessment - Designates the category of assessment based on the curriculum 
  • is_custom - Designates whether an assessment was created by Great Minds (false) or customized by a user (true). 
  • grade- Grade level associated with the assessment 
  • module - Module associated with the assessment 
  • curriculum - Great Minds curriculum associated with the assessment 
  • sections - Number of distinct class sections that the assessment has been assigned in 
  • total_students - Total number of students that the assessment was assigned to 
  • template_average - Average score of all student submissions for this assessment title 
  • performance_band - Performance band in which the students are grouped based on their scores and performance band score range 
  • band_students – Number of students scoring within the performance_band range 


Standards Performance Report 

 Report Description: This report aims to give administrators visibility into performance on standards. 

Data Dictionary: 

  • assessment_id - Unique identifier for each assessment assigned by a teacher. This identifier can be used to match across the Student, Standard, and Summary files. 
  • title (assessment title) - Title of the assessment 
  • type_of_assessment - Designates the category of assessment based on the curriculum 
  • assessment_status - The status of the assessment, which can be one of the following values:
    • open - student can still submit attempts
    • needs_grading - students have completed submissions, but some manually scored items remain to be scored by the teacher
    • review - students have completed submissions and all items have a score, but the teacher can still update the scores
    • done - all submissions and scores are finalized
  • is_custom - Designates whether an assessment was created by Great Minds (false) or customized by a user (true). 
  • grade- Grade level associated with the assessment 
  • module - Module associated with the assessment

  • student_id - Student identifier as received by Great Minds from the district 
  • student (full name) - Name of the student whose submission is represented in this row 
  • attempt_id - Unique identifier for the student’s submission that can be used to match across the Student and Standard files 
  • date_launched - Date the student first opened their attempt 
  • date_completed - Date of the student’s submission 
  • itemuid - unique identifier for the item assessed in this row 
  • item_order - Ordinal number location of the item on the assessment 
  • standard_code (short) - Short, human readable code for the standard assessed on the item 
  • points_achieved - Total points achieved on the item related to the standard 
  • points_possible - Total points possible on the item related to the standard 
  • average (rounded to int) - Percentage value based on the total points the student achieved on their item attempt divided the total points possible for the item 
  • standard_set_name - Name of the standard set generated for this file 
  • provider_id – Provider ID of the standard set (subject to change) 


Assessment Usage Report 

Report Description: This report aims to help administrators answer the question: are my teachers implementing the curriculum? 

Data Dictionary: 

  • School - School the assigning teacher is associated with 
  • teacher_sis_id - Teacher identifier as received by Great Minds from the district 
  • teacher - Name of the assigning teacher (last_name, first_name) 
  • grade - Grade level associated with the assessment 
  • section - Name of the class in which the assigning teacher administered the assessment 
  • curriculum - Great Minds curriculum associated with the assessment 
  • count_of_students_in_section – Number of students enrolled in the section the assessment was assigned to 
  • total_unique_assigned_assessments – Number of assessments assigned to the class section (excludes duplicates if an assessment was assigned multiple times) 
  • total_student_assignments – Number of students the assessment was assigned to 
  • total_student_submissions – Number of students who submitted the assessment
