Set Up Google Single Sign-On (SSO)

What is Google SSO?

Google SSO is an integration that allows schools with Google accounts to access our products with their Google credentials. This is a great option for schools that don’t want to create another login for their users.

Google SSO can be used with all our rostering methods. Please tell your Digital Implementation Specialist that you would like this integration. Users can log in through multiple SSOs if that is configured.

This integration is for Single Sign-on only and is not related to Google Classroom.

October 2023: Google Workspace for Education Update
As of October 23, 2023, Google Workspace for Education implemented an update which requires administrators of an organization to review and confirm access settings for third-party configured apps, which includes Great Minds. If you do not confirm these settings, users designated as under 18 will be unable to launch into Great Minds via Google SSO.

This Google article explains their recent update and provides a video tutorial on how to review and confirm third-party app settings: Third-party app access enhancements for Google Workspace for Education

When reviewing your app settings, you'll want to designate Great Minds as a "Trusted" app. If you have any issues configuring these access settings, contact our support team for assistance.

Log in Through Google Single Sign-On (SSO)

If your District uses Google to provide access to the Great Minds platform, you may log in by following these steps:

  1. Select the Google button.

Google login button on the Great Minds login page

  2. Use your district Google email and Google password to log in.

Contact a teacher or administrator at your school if you need help with the username/email or password for your Google account. Great Minds does not have access to this information.
