Reset Passwords

Password Requirements and Guidelines:
- Passwords must contain:
- Minimum of 8 characters
- Must contain at least 1 lowercase letter
- Must contain at least 1 number
- Only districts who log in directly at digital.greatminds.org can reset their users’ passwords
- After logging in with a temporary password, users will be prompted to set a custom permanent password for their account.
- Temporary passwords expire 30 days after creation or after the user's initial login.
- Once closed, the confirmation page with the user’s login details cannot be reopened unless you reset the user’s password again.
Resetting Passwords for District Administrators
District administrators can reset account passwords for other district administrators.
Role Required: District Administrator
- Select Manage from the left side menu.
- Navigate to the district Staff page.
- Locate the district administrator and click the kebab icon next to their name.
- Select Reset Password from the drop-down menu.
- Enter a temporary password for the user. If you want to send their login credentials via email, select the Send credentials to staff user via email option.
- Click the Reset button.
- A confirmation modal will appear with the users’ log in details. If desired, click Print to print a copy of this information to distribute.
Warning: Setting a temporary password for another user will immediately overwrite any existing password for their account. They will only be able to log in with the temporary password you have set. Be sure that you can share the new password with this user before resetting it.
Resetting Passwords for School Administrators
School administrators can reset account passwords for other school administrators in their school.
Role Required: District Administrator or School Administrator
- Select Manage from the left side menu.
- If you're a district administrator, or your account is associated with multiple schools, select the Schools icon and then select the desired school from the list.
- Select the Staff icon.
- Locate the school administrator and click the kebab icon next to their name.
- Select Reset Password from the drop-down menu.
- Enter a temporary password for the user. If you want to send their login credentials via email, select the Send credentials to staff user via email option.
- Click the Reset button.
- A confirmation modal will appear with the users’ log in details. If desired, click Print to print a copy of this information to distribute.

School administrators can reset account passwords for teachers in their school.

Resetting Passwords for Students in a Class
Teachers can reset password for students in their classes.
Role Required: District Administrator, School Administrator, or Teachers
- Select Manage from the left side menu.
- Select a class section from the drop-down at the top left.
- Click the Student Options button and select Reset Passwords from the drop-down menu.
- Check the box next to Student ID to reset passwords for all students in your class. Alternatively, you can check the box next to individual students' names to reset passwords only for those selected students.
- Click Next.
- Enter the password you wish to set for the students' accounts and click Next.
- Click the Reset Passwords button to confirm.
- A confirmation modal will appear with the users’ log in details. If desired, click Print to print a copy of this information to distribute.
