Pair Classes

This article explains how to pair a Learning Management System (LMS) course with a Great Minds class.

Role Required: Teacher


Prerequisites

Pairing is a function of Deep Linking and Assignment & Grade Services. If your district does not use these extensions, then you will not be able to pair/unpair classes.


Pair Class

In order to deploy content from a Great Minds class into an LMS course, you must ensure you pair the correct classes. Pairing allows you to indicate which classes are the same across multiple systems. It is very important that you pair the correct classes with each other; otherwise students in your LMS course may not have access to the content you deploy. 

You only need to perform the pairing process once per class. Once your class is paired, you will no longer be prompted to pair it. The following steps walk through the first launch of the Great Minds app/link in an unpaired class:

1. Launch the Great Minds app/link.*

2. Select the appropriate school year.

3. Select the Great Minds class that matches the LMS course you are in.

4. Click the Pair button.

Due to district configuration options and differences across LMS platforms, your Great Minds app/link location may vary. If you are unsure where to find links/apps in your LMS, contact an administrator at your school or district.


If you do not see the correct school year or classes available in the drop-down menus, contact your district administrator or submit a support ticket for assistance. If you see the correct classes but they are already “paired,” then you have already paired those classes with other LMS courses. If you made a mistake, you can unpair the class to create the correct pairings.
